Born in Venezuela, Eduardo Espinel studied trumpet and conducting at Brevard College, Baylor University, and Yale University.  In 2007 he was the 2^nd prize winner in the Eduardo Mata International Conducting competition where he conducted the Orquesta Filarmónica de la UNAM. 

Eduardo has appeared as a guest orchestral conductor with the Amarillo Symphony, Canton Symphony, La Crosse Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, Brevard Chamber Orchestra, Southern Arizona Symphony, Waco Symphony, Greater Erie Youth Symphony, and has been active in Connecticut and Georgia as a guest choral director and trumpeter. In 2006 he made his international conducting debut with the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea.  As a cover conductor he has assisted the Cincinnati, Memphis, and Fort Worth Symphonies.

A member of Pi kappa Lambda and Phi Theta Kappa, Mr. Espinel has received numerous awards such as the 2004 Robert J. Harth Conductor Prize from the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen, the Stephen and Denise Adams full tuition scholarship to attend Yale University, and a National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts Entertainment Scholarship in 2002 and 2003.

As a Yale Conducting Fellow, Eduardo served as conductor to both the Yale Philharmonia and the New Music New Haven concert series. As an educator he has assisted and adjudicated university, college, high school orchestra and band programs in Arizona, Kansas, Texas, and Georgia. 

Mr. Espinel has attended several conducting workshops including the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen, the American Symphony Orchestra League Donald Thulean Conducting Workshops, the Conductor’s Institute at Bard, and the Conductor’s Institute of South Carolina. 

His principal conducting teachers have been David Zinman, Lawrence Leighton Smith, Murry Sidlin, Stephen Heyde, Edward Cumming, Michael Haithcock, Donald Bailey, Virginia Tillotson, Ruth Still and Jamie Hafner.
